The trend towards endoscopy witnessed in medicine in the late 1980s, also extended to the field of arthroscopy. The question of the extent to which the company was capable of producing instruments in this domain subsequently arose. It was soon recognised that the know-how already acquired in the production of laparoscopy forceps could facilitate the transition to arthroscopy punches.
So, arthroscopy punches were initially produced with the company acting as a supplier. No in-house arthroscopy range for direct sale had been established. However, as the punches were increasingly accepted and given the growing interest of clients all over the world, a decision was taken to build up an extensive product range.
